Came back with the kids. So nice to have a hut so close to the car that it can be used to kick off a trip.

Briefly stopped by after walking down the Waipawa River from Waipawa Forks Hut, a bit ugly and uninspiring, super small commons room with little to do, clearly not visited much from rd end (a 5-10min walk). *Oh btw it's not actually called Triplex Hut, it's Triple X Hut after a pilot who crashed nearby and whose only remain was a t-shirt with 3 Xs on it!*
