Feels like a modern tree hut! Great place to stop for morning tea/lunch

There are 7 mattresses stored on the rear veranda here so people can stay overnight if the Heaphy River comes up and floods the track (been there, done that). Also a door has been added so technically this is a hut, not a shelter.

A very odd, elaborate, non-practical structure. Would have cost heaps, but a hut would have been more sensible.
